The Reedsburg Beavers just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Sparta Spartans at 5:45 p.m. on February 2nd. Reedsburg has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 4.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 81-41, which was the final score in Reedsburg's tilt against the Vikings on Thursday. Reedsburg has struggled against the Vikings recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Sparta had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Viroqua by a score of 76-68 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Gavin Rhead, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. Grant Geier was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five assists.
Reedsburg's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Sparta, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13.
Reedsburg beat the Spartans 61-50 when the teams last played back in December of 2017. Will Reedsburg repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
