Basketball Recap: Kenai Anderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crooms Academy over Innovation

On Wednesday, the Crooms Academy Panthers were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 68-63 to the Innovation Bulls. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (60), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Crooms Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kenai Anderson, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The game was Anderson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Gill, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Crooms Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for Innovation, they moved to 1-7 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crooms Academy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Warner Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
