Softball Recap: Washington Picks Up 11th Consecutive Victory

Washington entered their tilt with East Peoria on Tuesday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Raiders. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Washington's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for East Peoria, their loss dropped their record down to 17-12.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Washington will challenge rival Dunlap at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 1.9, the Eagles 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, East Peoria is set to square off against their familiar foe Morton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
