Mulberry Grove has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Maryville Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mulberry Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Mulberry Grove ended up a good deal behind Lincolnwood and lost 50-32. Mulberry Grove has not had much luck with Lincolnwood recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Mulberry Grove's loss came about despite a quality game from Carter Scoggins, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Maryville Christian suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Christ Our Rock Lutheran, falling 69-39. While losing is never fun, Maryville Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 706th, while Christ Our Rock Lutheran is ranked 319th).
Mulberry Grove's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-10. As for Maryville Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-14.
Mulberry Grove was taken down by Maryville Christian 54-25 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Mulberry Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
