Even though the Springfield Southeast Spartans have not done well against the MacArthur Generals recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Springfield Southeast put the hurt on MacArthur with a sharp 68-45 win. That's another feather in the cap for Springfield Southeast, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Springfield Southeast was led to victory by Navehua Collier and Marisa Gant. Collier dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Gant almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Gant has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rakiyah Coleman, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Springfield Southeast's win bumped their record up to 11-18. As for MacArthur, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-18.
