The Georgetown Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Loris, falling 67-11. Georgetown has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Leading Loris to victory were Dazena Capers and Janiya Richburg. Capers scored 17 points along with five steals, while Richburg dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Richburg is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mariasia Moody, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Georgetown dropped their record down to 2-20 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Loris, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.
Coincidentally, Georgetown and the Lions will both be playing the Blue Jackets the next time they take the court. Georgetown will host the Blue Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
