Football Recap: Apex Friendship Piles Up the Points Against Green Level

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Apex Friendship). They claimed a resounding 49-14 win over the Green Level Gators. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Patriots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Gators are ranked 270th).

Ethan McGarrigan was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 308 yards and four TDs while picking up 15.4 yards per attempt. Those 308 passing yards gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of McGarrigan's aerial production (107 yards to be exact) went to Adam Schreiber, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

The victory made it two in a row for Apex Friendship and bumps their season record up to 7-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-6 Green Level and 1-6 Apex. As for Green Level, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Apex Friendship will square off against rival Willow Spring at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. Meanwhile, Green Level is set to challenge their familiar foe Apex at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
