Moberly is 1-9 against Hannibal since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Moberly Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Hannibal Pirates at 8:30 p.m. Hopefully Moberly is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hannibal in Missouri (Moberly is ranked 97th, while Hannibal is ranked 233rd).
Last Thursday, Moberly suffered a tough 71-45 loss at the hands of Hallsville.
Moberly's loss came about despite a quality game from Ty Rucker, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Rucker's third in a row with at least ten points. Ethan Land was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Meanwhile, Hannibal lost to Quincy Notre Dame on the road by a decisive 59-43 margin on Saturday. Hannibal has struggled against Quincy Notre Dame recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Moberly's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Hannibal, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Moberly came up short against Hannibal when the teams last played back in January, falling 60-51. Can Moberly avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
