Richland faced Somerset in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Rams came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on five straight.
Richland was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 26-28, 25-20, 25-9.
Their offense was headlined by Addison Hirsch and Kiya Wise, who picked up 17 kills apiece. They got some help from Brooklyn Roberts and her 20 assists. Abby Wyant controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Despite the loss, Somerset saw an underclassman step up: freshman Molly Stoy had six digs and two aces.
Richland's victory bumped their record up to 22-2-2. As for Somerset, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-4-1.
