The West Point-Beemer Cadets were the 42-40 winner over the Oakland-Craig Knights when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. West Point-Beemer fell to Oakland-Craig 49-45. West Point-Beemer found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post eight fewer assists than your opponent.
West Point-Beemer's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Allie Kaup, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Campbell Snodgrass who scored 17 points. That was a full 37.8% of West Point-Beemer's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Hunke, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Oakland-Craig got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Briar Ray out in front who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Bailey Pelan was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
West Point-Beemer's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10. As for Oakland-Craig, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.
West Point-Beemer will be playing at home against Wayne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayne is coming into the matchup with nine straight defeats on the road, meaning West Point-Beemer will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Oakland-Craig does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
