There's no place like home for the Horse Creek Academy Stallions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They secured a 45-41 W over Pelion on Monday. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 19 to ten on the offensive boards, as Horse Creek Academy did.
Horse Creek Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kingston Hightower out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Jeremiah Toole was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Pegues, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pegues has scored all season. Another player making a difference was John Berned, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Horse Creek Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pelion, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-3.
Horse Creek Academy will be playing at home against Wagener-Salley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pelion, they will head out on the road to face off against Gilbert at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Gilbert's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
