Maiden (N.C.) saw its 11-point lead shrink to two, but hung on to defeat
Bandys (Catawba, N.C.) 21-19 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Jake McRee touchdown pass to
Kyle Kelly in the second quarter, the Blue Devils led 21-10 at the half.
Maiden saw its 11-point halftime lead decrease to eight entering the fourth.
With the win MHS extended its winning streak to eight games. Maiden defeated West Caldwell 46-26 last week.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 7-0 win for the Blue Devils.
Bandys (3-5) goes up against Bunker Hill in a 2A Conference 3 game matchup next week, while Maiden (8-0) locks horns with West Lincoln also in a 2A Conference 3 game.
