Vista del Lago is 8-2 against Christian Brothers since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will challenge the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Vista del Lago took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Bella Vista by a score of 5-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Alayna Piexoto looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addison McCulloch, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Morgan Hayhurst was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Christian Brothers never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Rio Americano with a sharp 10-0 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Annika DeWaal looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Taylor Jernigan was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Lillie Warren, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Christian Brothers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Vista del Lago's record now sits at 8-10. As for Christian Brothers, their record is now 7-12.
Vista del Lago skirted past Christian Brothers 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
