The Lennox Academy Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Crossroads Roadrunners at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Lennox Academy made easy work of Hawthorne Math & Science Academy and carried off an 18-8 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Aviators: they've now won seven in a row.

Valeria Lopez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, Lennox Academy got a massive performance out of Antonella Casillas, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Casillas hit this season. Ziurell Ruiz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Lennox Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Crossroads can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Monday. Everything went their way against Immaculate Heart as Crossroads made off with a 19-9 victory. The Roadrunners' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on Quinn Womack, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ama Isackson, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
The win got Lennox Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Crossroads, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
