Blake Smith Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Westview was led to victory by Blake Smith, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Smith rushed for 206 yards on only 12 carries. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (107.9) per game. Those 206 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
The victory made it two in a row for Westview and bumps their season record up to 5-2. Smith and Westview will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Millard West on October 25th.

Grand Island is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. Wheeler and Grand Island will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Omaha Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.

Tyrell Chatman's big game helped extend Lincoln North Star's winning streak to four on Friday. Chatman turned in nothing short of a gem, throwing for 106 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 35 yards.
Lincoln North Star's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Chatman and Lincoln North Star will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bellevue East at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.
