The Tradition Prep Pirates won the last time they faced the Westwood Panthers, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Tradition Prep came out on top against Westwood by a score of 63-53. With that win, Tradition Prep brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Tradition Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aydan Fields, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fields has scored all season. Jayden Harris was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
When it comes to explaining why Westwood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Addly Osne. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordan Crutchfield, who scored three points along with 11 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Tradition Prep and bumps their season record up to 9-9. As for Westwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Tradition Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Okeechobee at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Okeechobee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Tuesday. As for Westwood, they will head out on the road to square off against John Carroll Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. John Carroll Catholic is on a three-game streak of home losses, Westwood a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
