Basketball Recap: Erie Extends Winning Streak to Two

Erie won the last time they faced Legacy, and Juliet Slater did her part to make sure it happened again. The Erie Tigers came out on top against the Legacy Lightning by a score of 48-41 on Friday thanks in part to Slater, who posted 17 points. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Husk, who scored eight points and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Despite the loss, Legacy still got an impressive performance from Olivia Mortensen, who went 9 for 22 on her way to 20 points and seven rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Erie and bumps their season record up to 9-6. As for Legacy, they dropped their record down to 10-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Erie will square off against Frederick at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Legacy, they will take on Niwot at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy is facing Niwot at the right time seeing as Niwot is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
