While it was all tied up 12-12 at halftime, the Norfolk Catholic Knights were not quite the Battle Creek Braves's equal in the second half on Friday. Norfolk Catholic fell to Battle Creek 34-29. Norfolk Catholic lost against Battle Creek in their previous head to head last Thursday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 43-36 score last time.
Despite the loss, Norfolk Catholic had strong showings from Avery Yosten, who scored 15 points, and Eva Hartzell, who scored seven points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Norfolk Catholic bumped their record down to 6-5 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Battle Creek, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norfolk Catholic will take on Scotus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Battle Creek, they will be playing at home against West Point-Beemer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
