Basketball Recap: Elk Creek Takes a Loss

Elk Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 53-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Bay Christian Academy. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Elks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-28 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Elk Creek still got an impressive performance from Kaleb Reagan, who went 11 of 23 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals. Reagan has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kalal Montes, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Elk Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for North Bay Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Elk Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 0-0 loss against Plumas Charter on the 10th. As for North Bay Christian Academy, they will square off against Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
