The Hitchcock County Falcons will be playing at home against the Wallace Wildcats on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Hitchcock County and seven for Wallace.
On Tuesday, Hitchcock County had to suffer through a rough 62-27 loss at the hands of Chase County. Hitchcock County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Wallace, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-33 loss to Southwest on Tuesday.
Wallace's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Conner Kennicutt, who scored 11 points, and Masen Messersmith who scored eight points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kennicutt has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Hanson, who scored seven points.
Hitchcock County's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Wallace, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Hitchcock County against Wallace in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 77-40 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Wallace's Matt Lungrin, who scored 26 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Hitchcock County still be able to contain Lungrin? There's only one way to find out.
