Alton typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Waterloo proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Redbirds by a score of 4-1. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Waterloo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Alton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-14.

Looking ahead, Waterloo will take on Edwardsville at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Alton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
