The Acalanes Dons were the 56-49 winner over the Piedmont Highlanders when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Acalanes took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Piedmont.
Acalanes' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Dodge, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Quinn, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Acalanes' loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Piedmont, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Acalanes will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against St. Ignatius College Preparatory at 4:30 p.m. on December 2nd. St. Ignatius College Preparatory presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Acalanes in California (St. Ignatius College Preparatory is ranked 94th, while Acalanes is ranked 419th). As for Piedmont, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Redwood at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd.
