Baseball Recap: Brandon Has No Trouble Against St. Martin

Brandon extended their postseason success on Monday against St. Martin. They put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Grady Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tre Adcox, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Graydon Walker was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Brandon has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for St. Martin, their loss dropped their record down to 16-14.

Coming up, Brandon will face off against Ocean Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.4, the Greyhounds 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. St. Martin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
