The Williamsport Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Manchester Valley by a score of 20-18. Williamsport was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Manchester Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Despite the loss, Williamsport still got an impressive performance from Corry Nelson jr, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Nelson jr was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards.
Williamsport's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Manchester Valley, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamsport will challenge South Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (South Carroll is ranked 153rd, while Williamsport is ranked 145th). As for Manchester Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Westminster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westminster is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
