The ILTexas Arlington Eagles will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Newman International Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully ILTexas Arlington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
ILTexas Arlington posted their biggest win since November 9, 2023 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Advantage Academy 62-20 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-5.
ILTexas Arlington found their leader in underclassman Khattab Kanan, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kanan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Al-Yasiri, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Newman International Academy gave their fans yet another huge victory two weeks ago. They breezed by Advantage Academy on the road to the tune of 53-17.
The victory got ILTexas Arlington back to even at 15-15. As for Newman International Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
ILTexas Arlington was able to grind out a solid win over Newman International Academy in their previous matchup on January 6th, winning 59-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for ILTexas Arlington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
