After having lost a blowout in their previous game against University Prep Value, the Academia Avance Guerreros Jaguares were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against ESAT as Academia Avance made off with a 57-35 victory. Academia Avance pushed the score to 49-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Grizzlies cut but never quite recovered from.
ESAT's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Niel Gabriel Sanchez, who scored 16 points. Sanchez hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jonah Vasquez, who scored 12 points.
Academia Avance's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for ESAT, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academia Avance will challenge the Bulls at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alliance Bloomfield is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home. As for ESAT, they will head out on the road to face off against the Spartans at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. East College Prep is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
