The Pascagoula Panthers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Harrison Central Red Rebels at 7:30 p.m. Pascagoula is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pascagoula beat Biloxi 44-40. Given Pascagoula's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Biloxi is ranked 73rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Harrison Central pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Paul's. Harrison Central's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mickey Ducksworth, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shaun Murray, who scored 16 points.
Pascagoula's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Harrison Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Pascagoula strolled past Harrison Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 69-52. Does Pascagoula have another victory up their sleeve, or will Harrison Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
