The Hughson Huskies will take on the Patterson Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Hughson was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Turlock on Saturday. Hughson blew past Turlock 14-2. With that victory, the Huskies brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.
Presley Wells 2026 was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wells 2026 was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Emma Carne 2028 was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Summer Leshko 2025 was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Hughson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Turlock only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Patterson). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Sonora a 15-0 shutout on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the game before.
Like Hughson, Patterson also got a great game from a two-way player: Isabelle Lopez. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Lopez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. She also put up a stolen base, which washer first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Cruthis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reese Valentine, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
The win got Patterson back to even at 2-2-2. As for Hughson, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Hughson has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Patterson struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
