Basketball Recap: Holly Grove Christian Drops Highest Score of Season Against Faith Baptist School

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holly Grove Christian). They really took it to the Faith Baptist School Falcons for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-19 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Leading Holly Grove Christian to victory were Samantha Porter and Abby Pruitt. Porter dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards, while Pruitt went 6 for 14 to rack up 15 points and seven steals. Porter has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Cate Sterling was another key player, putting up eight points.

Holly Grove Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Faith Baptist School only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Faith Baptist School lost on Monday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kiersten Yates HS, who posted four points and three steals.

Holly Grove Christian pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31 points. As for Faith Baptist School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Holly Grove Christian and Faith Baptist School's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Holly Grove Christian will square off against Calvary Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, a squad that's only allowed 22.77 points per game. Holly Grove Christian's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Faith Baptist School's offense will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, Faith Baptist School and Greenwood Mennonite (who has only given up 28.75 points per game) will meet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
