2A District 3 recap Oct. 30, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to St. Edward's, who took down 338th ranked Florida Air Academy, 26-0. Devon Kahle ran for 29 yards and caught two passes for 69 yards in the win.
The Pirates moved up to 379 from 409 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A District 3. St. Edward's climbed the ranks as a result of besting the Falcons 26-0.
Carson Proctor put up the best numbers through the air as Bill Motta's team defeated Florida Air Academy. He had a total of four completions for 71 yards.
Kavian Ghadimi made the biggest impact on defense this week as Father Lopez topped Calvary Christian. The senior grabbed one interception.
Boogie Mills was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 134 yards on 12 carries as the Green Wave defeated John Kraynik's team. Joe Boden also contributed to the rushing game with 81 yards on the ground.
Father Lopez's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Green Wave feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Boden has thrown for 837 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Isadore Wood has 17 catches for 261 yards. Boden also leads the league in rushing with 834 yards.
There should be lots of points scored when St. Edward's and Father Lopez face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Pirates comes in having scored 214 this season, while Jason Dunlap's team has scored 267. St. Edward's scored 26 points last week as it beat the Falcons.
Warner Christian extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 3 this week by beating St. John Lutheran, 12-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Eagles.
