Volleyball Recap: Brinley Danczak Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Valley

Basic won the last time they faced Valley and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Wolves narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Vikings 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Basic had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-9.

Basic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brinley Danczak out in front who had ten digs and five aces. That's the most aces Danczak has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Rivera, who had ten digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Basic was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 14 aces in three consecutive contests.

Basic's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Basic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Chaparral on the 11th. As for Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Sports Leadership & Management on the 15th.
