Softball Recap: Hamilton's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Hamilton dropped their record down to 5-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 10-0 to the Camp Point Central Panthers. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Titans were not able to get on the board.

As for Camp Point Central, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Considering they have won nine games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Camp Point Central's part, Emma Stephens was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Stephens was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Ella Venvertloh and Gwen Huston did most of the damage at the plate: Venvertloh went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Huston went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Claire Huston was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Looking ahead, Hamilton will challenge Quincy Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Camp Point Central will be paying especially close attention to the Titans' contest: after the Titans face off against the Raiders, they'll take on Camp Point Central again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
