Oakleaf is 1-8 against Bartram Trail since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Oakleaf Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Bartram Trail Bears at 7:00 p.m. Oakleaf is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Oakleaf came up short against Madison County and fell 29-16. Despite 62 more yards than Madison County, Oakleaf couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Despite the loss, Oakleaf saw an underclassman step up: Jordin Price picked up 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Michael Conner, III also helped out as he racked up 110 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 31 points the game before, Bartram Trail were a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They were beaten by Buchholz 44-7. Bartram Trail was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-0.
The losses dropped Oakleaf to 2-5 and Bartram Trail to 4-4.
Oakleaf was taken down by Bartram Trail 55-20 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Oakleaf avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
