The Spearman Lynx will challenge the Shamrock Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spearman will be strutting in after a victory while Shamrock will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, Spearman beat Texhoma/Goodwell 28-21. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lynx's disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 795th in Texas, while Texhoma/Goodwell are ranked 174th in Oklahoma).

09/12/25 @ Hooker | 105 |

Jailen Vasquez produced another solid effort rushing for 145 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 57 yards and two touchdowns. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 100.2 rushing yards per game.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Spearman was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 244 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Spearman didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Dallen Scroggs.
Meanwhile, Shamrock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 41-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sanford-Fritch. On the bright side, the 34- point performance marked the Irish's highest-scoring game to date.
Spearman will have to keep a close watch on Cross Stambaugh and Jace Moon, a pair of players who had a big impact on Shamrock's prior game. Stambaugh gained 216 total yards and three touchdowns, while Moon threw for 443 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Stambaugh also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making 15 total tackles and defending one pass.
Even if they lost, Shamrock's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Raymund Saldivar was especially locked on to Sanford-Fritch's QB and sacked him three times.
Shamrock's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Spearman, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Everything came up roses for Spearman against Shamrock in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 56-0 win. Do the Lynx have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Irish turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
