Gia Wall and Katie Dzialo were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Wall struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Dzialo tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wall has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Wall got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Dzialo went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave Dzialo a new career-high.
In other batting news, MacKenzie Caouette was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sofia Reyes, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
St. Joseph always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, New Canaan never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Bridgeport Central. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Hilltoppers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

St. Joseph came out on top in a nail-biter against New Canaan in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Cadets repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
