It was a good run, but the Lincoln County Lynx unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Virgin Valley by a score of 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lincoln County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kalen Bart, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds, and Marc Mcclain who scored 16 points along with six assists and four steals. Bart has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Rowdy Lloyd, who scored nine points.
Virgin Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Corban Waite, who scored 12 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elian Pinto, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Lincoln County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Virgin Valley, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln County will take on Founders Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Virgin Valley, they will be playing at home against Eldorado at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
