Baseball Recap: London Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

London never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Noah Cervantes looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on RJ Olivares, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Aiden Salinas also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

London always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Gertrudis Academy only posted an OBP of .222.

London's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (London 3.2, Orange Grove 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
