The Haskell Haymakers will venture away from home to challenge the Eufaula Ironheads at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Haskell is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Liberty on Tuesday as Haskell made off with an 18-10 win. The result was nothing new for the Haymakers, who have now won three games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Brody Grider looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Jaxon Drain was incredible, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Jacob Yocham also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Eufaula not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024. Everything went their way against Fort Gibson as Eufaula made off with a 9-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ironheads.
Dawson Hughes and Hayden Robinson were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hughes tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Robinson tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Hughes scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-3, while Robinson scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Hodgins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Lane, who scored two runs and stole Two bases.
Eufaula was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The win got Haskell back to even at 3-3. As for Eufaula, their record now sits at 2-3.
Eufaula's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Haskell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. It's a different story for Eufaula, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Haskell's hitters?
Haskell might still be hurting after the 11-5 loss they got from Eufaula when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Can Haskell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
