The Georgetown G-Men came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to St. Bernard-Elmwood Place for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-20 win on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Georgetown also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Georgetown found their leader in underclassman Morgan Preston, who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds. Preston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Hudson, who scored 9 points.
Georgetown's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for St. Bernard-Elmwood Place, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgetown's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th. Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Georgetown in Ohio (Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy is ranked 165th, while Georgetown is ranked 380th). As for St. Bernard-Elmwood Place, they will head out on the road to face off against Cincinnati Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
