Pendleton County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the East Hardy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Pendleton County had to suffer through a rough 67-28 loss at the hands of the Golden Tornado. Pendleton County has struggled against the Golden Tornado recently, as their game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, East Hardy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Tucker County 78-41. While losing is never fun, East Hardy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Mountain Lions are ranked 34th).
East Hardy might have lost, but man, Brooklynn Tinnell was a machine: she scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Tinnell has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe Miller, who scored nine points.
Pendleton County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for East Hardy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Pendleton County came up short against the Cougars in their previous matchup back in January, falling 59-46. Can Pendleton County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
