Summit took a 12-run  loss the last time they faced off against Forrest, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference.  On the hitting side,  Audrey Cathey was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Tarek Scherr, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
Summit is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Forrest,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 7-6.
 Coming up, Summit will face off against Pope John Paul II at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last three games. As for Forrest, they will square off against Riverdale at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
