The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Chapin by a score of 61-58. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Dutch Fork of the 58-45 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Bryson Taylor and Samajae Govan certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Taylor scored 17 points, while Govan scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Govan has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Garner, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Dutch Fork has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Chapin, their victory bumped their record up to 6-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dutch Fork will square off against the Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in River Bluff's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches. As for Chapin, they will head out on the road to take on the Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. White Knoll is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
