Tatum (N.M.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Timmy Pearce ran for a touchdown with 7:00 remaining, bringing the team to victory over
Menaul (Albuquerque, N.M.) 44-20.
The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at 12. The Coyotes took the lead for good on a Pearce touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Pearce stood out for Tatum in the win. The senior running back ran for five touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
Zhenya Diadyura made a difference for the Panthers. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
When the two teams played each other last season, THS came away with a 32-8 victory.
With the win the Coyotes extended their winning streak to three games.
Tatum (3-0) will play a non-conference game against Logan next week, while Menaul (1-2) will take on Gateway Christian also in a non-conference game.
