Basketball Recap: Palm Desert Skates Past Shadow Hills with Ease

Palm Desert won the last time they faced Shadow Hills and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Palm Desert Aztecs blew past the Shadow Hills Knights 82-43. The Aztecs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Palm Desert was led to victory by Paul Dreisbach and Jecorey Jones. Dreisbach went 7 of 12 to rack up 28 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists, while Jones went 6 for 9 en route to 23 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Those 23 points gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Brande, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Xay Williams and Edward Escobar certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Williams posted 11 points, while Escobar had 12 points.

Palm Desert is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for Shadow Hills, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-16.

Palm Desert wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-46 win against Palm Springs on the 3rd. As for Shadow Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-51 victory against Indio on the 31st.
