The Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Opp Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Opp took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cottage Hill Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cottage Hill Christian Academy walked away with it. They strolled past the Leopards with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 65-51.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-45, which was the final score in Opp's tilt against Pike County on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Opp can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while Pike County is ranked 199th).
Defeat or not, Opp got some senior leadership from Dorian Harris and Reed Adams. Harris scored 14 points along with five rebounds, while Adams. scored seven points along with six rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Smith, who scored seven points.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 18-10. As for Opp, their loss dropped their record down to 3-24.
Everything came up roses for Cottage Hill Christian Academy against Opp in their previous meeting back in February of 2018 as the squad secured a 64-34 victory. Will Cottage Hill Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Opp have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
