Lake City dropped their record down to 6-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They came up short against the East Lincoln Mustangs, falling 9-2. The Panthers were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the five contests prior), but the Mustangs' pitchers proved too tough.

As for East Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

For East Lincoln's part, the team relied heavily on Evan Matile, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Miles Welch was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake City will take on Lamar at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for East Lincoln, they will challenge West Iredell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
