The West Stokes Wildcats lost to the North Surry Greyhounds back in February, but the West Stokes Wildcats didn't allow the North Surry Greyhounds the same satisfaction on Tuesday. West Stokes took down North Surry 64-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for West Stokes.
North Surry's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fisher Leftwich, who scored 16 points. Leftwich scored a full 35.6% of North Surry's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Julius Brintle, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
West Stokes' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for North Surry, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Stokes will square off against East Surry at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Surry, they will head out on the road to face off against Reagan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Reagan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully North Surry likes a good challenge.
