Cardinal Mooney was the 8-3 winner over Port Charlotte when they last played one another back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinal Mooney Cougars took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Port Charlotte Pirates on Wednesday. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Cardinal Mooney got a good showing from Keaton White, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. White has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, John Badala was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Cardinal Mooney's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Port Charlotte, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-8.
