Baseball Recap: Middle Creek Extends Winning Streak to Four

Middle Creek waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Green Level Gators. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-7 on Tuesday.

Gabe Murray made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

In other pitching news, Ben Bryant looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, John Lupienski was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Middle Creek hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.

Middle Creek pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Green Level, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.

Middle Creek wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-0 victory against Panther Creek on the 22nd. As for Green Level, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-6 win against Lee County on the 19th.
