Mississinewa is a perfect 10-0 against Madison-Grant since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Indians will head out to take on the Argylls at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Mississinewa needed a bit of extra time to put away Alexandria-Monroe. They had just enough and edged out the Tigers 4-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
The team relied heavily on Kellen Rock, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
Meanwhile, Madison-Grant made easy work of Blackford on Tuesday and carried off a 13-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Argylls, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Luke Nelson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Madison-Grant got a massive performance out of Andy Stanley, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave Stanley a new career-high. Xavier Yeagy was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Madison-Grant is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Mississinewa, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mississinewa has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Madison-Grant struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mississinewa came out on top in a nail-biter against Madison-Grant when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
